help 4 the homeless
London & Home Counties
hope for our friends on the street
Meeting real human need
Check out this video to see how we help rough sleepers and people in very real need. Homelessness is not a lifestyle choice. Very many rough sleepers who have ended up on the streets have mental health issues or a financial and relationship breakdown. A significant proportion are ex-military. The video is a powerful reminder that “even small acts of kindness can make a difference in someone’s life”.
A Game-Changing Donation
We were thrilled and humbled to receive the recent donation of a liveried van, enabling us to carry more produce and clothing on our weekly trips into London and helping us to do that more efficiently and quickly. We are also keen to find some free or cheap storage space in central London to help us to do even more.
Homelessness in the UK (2022-2023)
Younger people sleeping rough are on the rise, including young women and failed asylum seekers as well as those with mental health or drug problems.
The government has pledged to end Homelessness. That’s a laudable aim but maybe a little simplistic. What is possible, is to substantially reduce homelessness by providing small step solutions and working relationally and on a case by case basis.
